Default Is it even worth the report?

AFKer in Snowball arena, it hard to even get a match now with out getting atleast one afker. And your lucky if you play a few rounds and don't see a bot.

I'm so sick of it, that the Skillz title no longer hold meaning for me. It deserves to be called '1337 SKILLZ', given that it take the same mentality to AFK it as the average user of Leet Speek.

Now I was lucky enough to get 3 afkers in one team, wooo me. I still tried, I killed someone and got 100 faction, woot. But then the other team suggested I scrn shot the afkers and report them.

But my question is, more so to Gaile or any Anet staff, is this really even worth it? It's not the first time AFKer have popped up. Hardly seen any action take on the matter in the past so why would there be any taken now.
I could easily report atleast a few dozen AFKers, but I must admit I'm alil disgruntled as to if it will make a change.

So is it worth it?

Some people are afk leeching at the spawn basically 24/7 -- it's blatantly obvious they're using a script. Some people have bots that attack; some people have bots that only move. Entire guilds like name deleted are botting.

I reported a huge list of bots to support but all I got was the auto-reply that said thanks and you won't hear from us again. Nothing has been done yet. I recently PM'd Gaile the list in desperation that she'll send it to someone that will do something.

Yes the arena is a joke now because of this, and that's an understatement. Almost all matches are bots vs bots with the few legit guys doing all the work. Everyone knows who these bots are but Anet apparently.

I do recommend you report them anyway. If they won't listen to me, maybe they'll listen to all of us?

P.S. If anyone from Anet is reading this and willing to do something about it, I have a large list of the most chronic bots with descriptions of their actions saved -- just PM me.

Not worth the time, imo. There are thousands of "leechers" and most of them will claim that they were doing something else or forgot they had GW running if they were reported.

...Er, that was kind of the joke in the first place. That you took the title seriously at any point suggests that you fell for it.

And to answer your question, no it's pointless to report this as there's no way ANet would act on it beyond "we're aware it's a problem but haven't come up with any good way to stop it that wouldn't also ruin the [insert PvP type]'s popularity".

Gaile has stated "leeching is not a support issue" so no it's not worth the report and in fact according to Anet's public statement in that regard, you are wasting their resources by sending any report about leeching in, so don't.

I will check with the rest of the team and see if there is anything to tell players at present about this issue. I'll also check with Support and see how they deal with tickets or incident reports about botting, AFKing and leeching, just to be sure we're all on the same page.

Be assured, none of us is indifferent to this problem!

The afk'ers an leechers I don't think should be reported as Anet won't do anything about a simple script, but entire guilds using a bot, and obviously distributing the bot script, should be reported. I report bots, not nesscessarily just afk'ers.

EDIT:Removed guild name from post, sorry

Heh, I can't believe you gave some worth to that title at first... welcome to the group of non-1337 people! You have outgrown puberty, grats!

As for the leeching/afk thing... just quit and go in again... don't even bother trying to give them ANYTHING. They don't deserve it.

dear ANET - Why not introduce in places like Fort Aspenwood a kick for being inactive for more than 3 miniutes or somthing. That way it will stop afk'ers more or less. For example give a warning on the screen saying you will be kicked for inactivity in 3 minuites if the person doesent move in 1 miniute.

The leechers would still find a way around this but it's somthing that could be worked on.

you can quit and go again

but for places like Fort Aspenwood,
you may have to wait as long as 30minutes for next new game
(and may get same leechers anyhow)

I wish ANET supported persecuting *repeat offenders*

and by repeat, I mean the same character leeches 12+ times a day for weeks

regarding the thousands of leechers comment

theres only a handful (less than 20) repeat leechers that I see daily
- whom *always AFK* in Fort Aspenwood

I'd gladly report them (w screenshots) every game if ANET wanted leecher reports

close the arena.

ta-da, problem solved.

yes, i am so smart.

lol, that wouldnt be the best option. but unfrotunately Humanity means that the only result is harsh on both sides.

1. Botter, Arena is closed - no more Faction.
Player, Arena is closed - no more Fun or Faction.

2. Botter, Arena remains open - continue Abuse.
Player, Arena remains open - no fun, AFKs and lame bots, little Faction.

You can see that the result for the real player is the same with both results, however the botter suffers on option 1.

Or we could implament AFK/Henchmen replacement. This would do in the long run, but it gives time for ANet to get something going. Hah. I just said ANet would do something. I guess thats what crack does these days. jk

Players (5 in total) report an AFKer/Botter, that Bot/Afk is botted and replaced by a Henchmen of the Primary Class.

The best thing to do is to convince all the players to leave (works only if there are AFKers on both side). Then the 3 or more AFKers will be stuck there in that instance for a few hours and not be getting faction.

that doesnt work in Fort Aspenwood

game would be over in 30min

the Kurz leechers would get a 650 faction win by default
(Gunthers weapon is like a timer - amber only accelerates it)

I thought guru rules say you're not allowed to accuse people or guilds of illegal activites even if you have prove. How bout mods delete or edit those posts(even mine) with all mentioning of name deleted?

I don't know why those pve'ers want to AFK for a tiny amount of faction...and i generalize this to pve people because most serious pvp'ers are at UAX or 1mil+ already and could careless about 1k faction every hour from afk...
